The Town House - Access Information

The Town House aims to cater for the needs of all visitors.

Car Parking Facilities

There are pay and display public parking bays right outside The Town House.  There is free on-street parking from 6pm - 8am Monday to Saturday.   The nearest long stay car park is situated in Charlotte Street (10 minute walk).  Credit card or cash accepted. There is also the Lansdown Park and Ride, BA1 9BJ.  Buses leave every 15 minutes. Last bus at 8.30pm (6.30pm on a Sunday and Bank Holiday). This park and ride is situated just 1 mile from The Town House.

Pre Arrival

Please advise us of your anticipated arrival time, so that we can be sure to be there to welcome you. We normally ask guests to arrive between 1600hrs and 1930hrs. Earlier or later arrival may be possible by arrangement. There are bus stops 30 metres away, affording a regular service within Bath City. Bath Spa Railway station and Bus Station are 20 minutes walk away. There is a taxi rank outside the station.

Wheelchairs

Unfortunately the format at The Town House is not wheelchair friendly.

Main Entrance

Entrance is from Lansdown Road. The front door is level with Lansdown Road. On arrival there will always be someone to greet our guests and to guide you through the house. Guests will enter directly into the Drawing Room. The Drawing Room floor is level and laid with floorboards.

Drawing Room

The Drawing Room is on the ground floor immediately inside the entrance from Lansdown Road. Furniture comprises of 3 leather sofas, a coffee table, a console table and lamps. There is also a large Armoire. There is a 49” wall mounted LCD smart TV with remote control. A DVD player and the wifi router. Room size, 19’5” x 13’10”. There are 8 stairs down to the basement.

The Basement

The Basement area is 76 square feet in size. There is a loo with basin, separate from the utility area. The utility area facilities consist of washing machine and tumble dryer, Iron and ironing board and storage for vacuum cleaner. A clothes horse is provided.

The Kitchen/Dining Room

There are 9 stairs up from The Drawing Room to The Kitchen/Dining Room.

The Dining Area

The furniture consists of a dining table for 12 persons with a bench either side and a stool either end. There is a cupboard to hold crockery and glass. There is a 32” wall mounted LCD TV with remote control and freeview. A door leads out onto the balcony.

Kitchen Area

This is a modern fitted kitchen consisting of 2 x electric ovens, 6 ring gas hob with extractor fan, a large fridge with small freezer, a separate wine fridge, sink and dishwasher. There is cupboard space for the pots and pans, and also a kettle, toaster, full set of bowls and kitchen utensils. All crockery, cutlery and glasses are provided. Cleaning products and drying up cloths provided. An additional door leads out onto the balcony.

Balcony


There is a balcony which is purely for a fire escape and access to the bins.  This area is not to be used by large groups for socialising due to the proximity of our lovely neighbours.  There is an emergency fire escape consisting of a spiral staircase with a number of stairs, leading to rear exit of the property.  From the Kitchen/Dining area 11 stairs lead to the next level.

Bedroom 1

The furniture consists of either a 6ft Super King size bed or 2 singles plus the possibility of 2 extra singles. There is a double ended, freestanding, roll top bath 1820ml long. There is a basin with mirror above, and a heated towel rail. In addition there are chest of drawers, a French Armoire with hanging space and a desk with a chair. There is also a second chair, 2 bedside tables and lamps.  Room size is 19’4” x 16’11”. 7 stairs lead to the next level.

Bedroom 3

The furniture consists of either a 6ft Super King size bed or 2 single beds. There is a dressing table with 2 large drawers with mirror over. There is a run of hooks with hangers. There are 2 bedside tables with lamps. This room has an ensuite wet room.

Ensuite Wet Room

There is a loo, basin, mirror above, shower and a heated towel rail.

Main Wet Room

There is a loo, basin with mirror above, shower and a heated towel rail.

Separate Loo and Basin

There is a separate loo and basin for use of all guests, stairs lead to the next level.

Bedroom 2

The furniture consists of either a 6ft Super King size bed or 2 single beds plus possibility of 2 extra single beds. There is a chest of drawers, a French Armoire with hanging space and a desk with a chair. There is also a second chair, 2 bedside tables and lamps. The size of this room is 16’11” x 15’.

Bedroom 4

The furniture consists of a 4’6” double bed, a headboard with shelf above, 2 wall lamps, a dressing table with 2 small and 2 large drawers and mirror above, and a row of hooks with hangers. The size of this room is 12’6” x 6’4”.

Wifi and internet

These facilities are free and available throughout the property with a security code connection.

Heating and water

The property is fitted with a brand new gas central heating system. There is a very large water cylinder of 300litres. Hot water is available 24/7. 

Additional information

The Town House is a totally non smoking area. Emergency exits are via the front door off the Drawing Room and the 2 back doors off the Kitchen/Dining Room. A further exit is possible to the roof from the window in Bedroom 4. There is a fire extinguisher on every floor, located in the stairwell. A first aid box is located in the Kitchen. There is also an additional fire extinguisher and fire blanket in the Kitchen. Dogs are permitted with notice.
